A member of the University of Waterloo Community put out a call for photographers to help her develop her MUA (Makeup Artist) portfolio and so I answered the call.  We originally planned a studio shoot but when we found out the studio was booked for the only time we were both available, it was decided to move outside and into Waterloo park.  We enlisted the help of her friend Heather and set out early on a Wednesday morning to take a few shots.  We had a great time and I look forward to having the talents of a makeup artist in future shoots.  Below are some of the shots that came out of the session.

The Waterloo Engineering Endowment Fund hit a milestone this year and today was their day to celebrate.  With our main foyer within Engineering, covered in yellow and 10 foot banners hanging from the walls outlining every purchase WEEF has ever made, the celebration marked a milestone of 20 years and over $4.3 Million spent with a capital of over $8.5 Million.  Every term each student is charged a refundable $75 tax deductible donation to WEEF and in turn WEEF spends $85000 of it’s interest on anyone who asks for funding.  The $75 accumulates in the capital and the interest is spent on various projects within engineering.  You cannot enter a lab within the faculty that does not have at least one piece of equipment purchased by WEEF and in many cases it is equipment that costs more than the $600 a typical student contributes to WEEF during their time at UW.  I am a big supporter of WEEF and so I was on hand to take a few photos of the festivities.
