I can’t believe how long it has been since I have written a blog post. I have written many on my Vice President External Blog (http://bit.ly/vpexblog) for the Waterloo Engineering Society because it seems that is all i have been doing lately, school and VP-Ex stuff. Even though my photography has taken a little bit of a hit, I still find it fun!
Wednesday March 21 was the day the 2012 Computer and Electrical Classes at the University of Waterloo showcased their fourth year design projects which they start designing one year before. I know this because I am currently in 3B which means I already have an idea for my project and am working on the development of it already. The department cancels classes on this day so that the 3rd years have ample time to check out all of the projects. I was asked to photograph the event and so I had a great time talking to the groups, taking photos and gaining some valuable tips on how to more effectively design our prototype.
Even though it was a fun day, it was also a long one for all involved parties as the projects are set up by 9:30am and are set up until awards which are presented at 8pm. The projects were really cool and it is exciting to see that a project that is similar to ours won first prize at the symposium (although that probably dosen’t bode well for winning again).
Overall it was a fun event and I enjoyed taking photos. I think I will enjoy presenting my project even more and will hopefully be proud to show off what I have accomplished while researching, designing and building our FYDP. Enjoy the photos!
